 Took this on the shinkansen (bullet train) on a friday morning. Everyone except me had a purpose other than sightseeing.

People have asked me in the past about why many people wear masks. They wear them when they are sick with a cold, so that they do not spread germs around to their fellow citizens.
Its pretty amazing!

I guess that's a Tokaido shinkansen - the ones that go North don't have those knobs on the headrests (well, I've never seen them).

About the masks - another reason they wear them is to prevent their allergies breaking out. The most common allergy is to cypress pollen, so you'll see more masks in March and April.

Well you answered my question about mask, seems pretty considerate of the sick person. We don't have many of those here in the states. Cool perspective and I like the white light lines leading you down the frame, well scene!

Commuting seems to have the same effect on people the world over. I feel their boredom. There is not really much action in this photo, but there is so much to see. Great job.

Great capture Panos! I love the perspective of this and all those dark suits against the white seats make for great contrast. I could look at this picture for hours and find new interesting things. The man walking down the isle looks like he only has half a head LOL!
