Post Challenge Comments:

This was a tough one for me since I really wanted to do something along the same style as one of my mentors and I can rarely get models - sorry about it having to be a self-portrait, but that is all I could get.

Thank you all for taking the time to look and comments. A special thank you to Jason for the IMHO Red Award - this really made my day.

This is a lovely SP. I really like the low key light, the pose is good too.

I didn't vote in this challenge, but surely this would have been a "10" from me.

I love the low key lighting. Just enough light on the hands and face to draw attention to them. Well done!

A good portrait. Not sure if he needs the hat though.

I love the drape of his pantlegs and the way his tie is bent forward... I love the detail in his hands and the lighting. This would be even more awesome with a real dark felt fedora on... although I do love how the light plays with the one he is wearing... This is a real mood piece and I love it.

I really like the lighting in this portrait, even though tones are quite dark. Nice job!

Back to comment and bump: The lighting is expecptional and the sepia tone adds to the mood of the image. My only suggestion is to crop some off the top and left to strengthen the limited negative space on the right. 9

Very good use of light. Very appropriate when doing a portrait of a photographer, huh?
