Taken at a picnic area near South Fork, Colorado. My husband and I stopped to walk our dog and noticed this blue fire hydrant in among the trees. There was a yellow one, too. There was a sign there that said this was the area to walk dogs - perhaps the hydrants were put there for male dogs?!? They looked like real functioning hydrants though.

My question is, was that fire hydrant really there, or was it placed for the shot? In any case, I like the contrast of man vs. nature. The hydrant truly does seem out of place, and the color makes it even more so.

HA! Great find. If only it was red - colors would have been quite jolly.

Great idea for this challenge. The blue really stands out amongst the trees. There seems to be an object in the background that I find a bit distracting. I wonder if you had used a larger aperture you could have blurred it out of sight. I also think it might benefit from a bit more saturation in the greens.
