Shot with one 250 light. It got a little warm!

Set the camera on macro focus, had it on a tripod pretty close to me. Clicked the EV to -.7 I believe, and hit the self timer.
Post Processing. Dropped the Sat down to like -50 or maybe a little more. Levels Curves and USM.
Here is the original out of camera shot.

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS! Yeah, I'm not really this serious or angry at all! Kinda the opposite really. :)

I love a half face shot when the one half is lit and the other in shadow. NICE>

Great lighting. I really like moody shots like this.

Nicely done. Thanks for the interesting comments on yor process. I take it that your 'shooting eye' is the one in shadow "D . The only thing I can find to pick at is the catchlight in the eye, being right on the edge like that.

Most intriguing - at least as much a composition, almost abstract, as a self portrait. At first I was going to say Why so serious? but now I see that is wholly irrelevant. Very very well done, and your desat is spot on. And thanks for showing the original and your steps.

The "one eye stare" with the eye at the center, makes this shot. The cooler color edit also adds to the feel that you seemed to be wanting to produce. Good job.

Wow! Fabulous portrait! Expression is intense and interesting. Beautiful focus, detail and lighting. Who would have thought a P&S could get such a nice portrait!

wonderful use of a single light source to give a strong statement of yourself - it works quite well to tell us a bit about you

i am impressed with the subtle but dramatic improvements you made in processing - nice work

Very dramatic portrait. It's nice to see the original. I think you did a great job on cropping and PP. I might bring back just a tad of the color in the face, but this is interesting. It looks like it was taken by moonlight.

I really like it. Like the dark sinister look to it. Wish I could take a self portrait half as good as this.
