Challenge: Macro Without Bugs or Flowers II (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di for Nikon
Location: Michigan, USA
Date: Apr 20, 2008
Aperture: f/20
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Macro
Date Uploaded: Apr 20, 2008

Marble dropped (rather thrown) into sand. I had tons of good outtakes on this that were more dramatic and better in focus, but I went with this because all of my others were badly marred by an incidental sand cup (dixie style) that I left to the side and was reflected in almos all of the shots :(. I almost don't want to enter this, but I threw way too many marbles into sand not to enter this challenge.

Absolutely great shot. Not really a macro shot, but amazing in every other way. As a general entry, I would give it a 10.

Bumping up a point for the timing, good capture of a moment in time! (Good title selection too.)

nice photo, but for macro you would have needed to get closer to the subject and focus on 1 spot.
