I was just browsing the Macro challenge and came across your image. If this doesn't win a prize, I will want to know why. Great shot.
On the more mundane technical front: The depth of field defocused the left hand screw and the hub of the watch/clock hands. I don't know what you could have done, but I am told that the depth of field extends further away from the camera than toward it. Perhaps bringing the focus a little closer and keeping the mechanism a little more parallel to the camera sensor could have sharpened the shot. I do like the effect of the slight rotation as it gives a more interesting view of the gear works. |
