 yeah so i dont really know what i'm doing with these macro shots, heres my last minute entry:

set up:

I actually made fun of my roommate for purchasing 'crazy-style', ice cubes in odd shapes for kids, but they came in handy while recreating the south pole.

I stacked a bunch of those, covered them with flour, and placed this little penguin key-chain guy that my friend sue randomly gave me years back.

4 second exposure in the dark, then use hand-held flash with a blue piece of paper over it to hit the ice cubes on the right, make the 'water' on the left, and took the blue off for one final illumination from above.

sloppy yes, but i had fun doing it, hah.
