Challenge: March Free Study (Advanced Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G2
Location: Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver, Canada
Date: Mar 18, 2004
Aperture: 2.2
ISO: 400
Shutter: 2
Galleries: Emotive, Floral
Date Uploaded: Mar 25, 2004

Shot in nearly pitch black conditions. I'm new to digital photography and I have yet to update my home computer to download images for editing. The picture is as is - no editing was done. This shot was a result of expermentation resulting in a happy accident. I intend to return to the park at night and experiment some more. A Raynox wide angle lens, .72x, was used. The lens obscured the built in flash producing some very interesting results. Tunsten metering was used as well and macro focusing was employed. No tripod was used, I was lying on the ground as still as possible.

Lots of editing here. I think I like the outcome but it's all a bit diagonal.

The colors are good and I like the haunted and eerie feel to this image, as well as, the silhouetted tree in the background and the way it helps to frame the flowers. I do however think the lighting is too strong on the top most flower and the top of the tree is lit up with detail and disrupts the silhouette effect. Still, a very compelling and artistic expressive photo. Well done.

A little over processed for my taste.

quite an unusal take on the flower theme -- I like the painting-like quality you've achieved. I'm wondering what impact moving the brightest flower off center would have? As presented, well done
