Fantastic use of DOF to isolate the subject. The texture in the wings is so cool, and especially because you can see the background texture through them.

OMG this is lovely! it almost looks as though you caught him looking like The Thinker, even leaning on his hand

Oh MY! But he doesn't look dead ?? Man, Greg! I think I see little eyelashes on that sucker! And I think he's picking his nose :) The detail is absolutely to DIE for! I love these insects too. The blue in them makes them so pretty!

Excellent shot. I love dragon flies. I plan on planting petunias all over my yard this year as I hear it attracts them. Love the details you captured here.

POV is superb of the dragon Fly.. Detail is also great esp the wings.. And he glows.
The fire trail has got to be the best place!!!

I was having a hike up a Mt Fuji a few years ago with a Kiwi guy (not the Mt Fuji but a loal one), and we wondered what dragonflies ate. Not long afterwards, we saw one eating a fly. Making crunching noises, too. ;-Þ.
