Even without your comments this tells a story. You choice to have her in focus and the background children blur suits this perfectly. Good eye for capturing this moment. |

What wonderful use of dof to intensify the emotions in this. I really get her longing, here, even before reading your story. Great capture of an emotive moment, Amanda |

It's amazing how much body language can tell a story. But mum, I want to play and have a picnic too!! Nice positioning too, with the unattainable just a blur in the background. |

Great composition and dof. It amazes me how emotive children can be. Their innocence and honesty can be so heart wrenching. |

This really does portray a sense of longing. Nice use of DOF to create the separation, too. |

So poignant, Amanda - really well seen. I'm wondering if this might pack even more of a punch in BW - not that it has to, mind you. Just a thought.

how brilliantly you've captured the feeling of being left out in your photograph .. her arms by her sides .. the other children out of focus .. its excellent .. i hope cartesia has a lot of happy times ahead of her in her life and this small disappointment will be forgotten .. :) |

This photo really tells a story - not always an easy thing to do. Great use of DOF to call out the subject. |

Oh man, doesn't that just give you that horrible feeling inside! Great photo and great job capturing the emotion, even without an expression from her face!! |
