My son on the Merry Go Round at Jantzen Beach Mall, Portland Oregon. Custom White Balance Manual mode panned.

Convert from raw, crop, hue/sat, resize, unsharp mask, save for web.

Probably too many entries in this free study for it to get very high in the ranking but I like it and hope it does well.

this is such a fun shot, just love the expression on his face, it's so hard to capture the motion on a merry go round, but you nailed the stop motion on this

THe motion you have captured here is so perfect, and gives the image such a fun quality. Might be nice if there were some way to strengthen the bright colors even more. Good capture!

Hey thanks for the comments everyone. As for the noise... It was at 1600 iso so I could get the shutter speed at a 60th for a good panning shot. The lighting in there wasn't good and white balance wasn't very easy either. I only had 1 coin for him to have 1 ride and took a shot almost every time he came around. This was the ONLY one that turned out. It was really only edited in basic even though I could've used advanced. But with the noise already present I didn't want to do too much for fear of too much destruction of the pixels.

Great stopped motion, a bit noisy in the shot, but a great capture you should be proud of. well done.

What gives? I did not expect to see this so far down. Not that above 6 is a bad score, but I expected higher. I love the sense of movement. It looks almost like a memory of childhood, if that makes any sense.

Love it. A bit on the noisy side but the fun just really overrides any technical issues.

Great image - if that were my kid I'd be thrilled and have a huge framed copy of it on my wall!
