 The only reason I had to convert this to B&W was the hair on the tape.

Very cool mage. I like the compositon used and the highlights make this a great canidate for b&w, though as you said it was pretty much already a b&w image. It actually reminds me of some old film.

A neat way to show something we see every day but never really look closely at. B&W is good for highlighting details that sometimes get lost in color - or as you point out here to hide details that may show up in color.

I almost didn't see the tape until I read your comment. This is certainly different and a good job of showing an ordinary object in a unique way. B&W fits this perfectly.

Love the non-typical subject. I think the lighting might be to sharp in some spots. The concept is very interesting though.

I beg to differ. I think there's a lot to see here. The lines and patterns, yes, but the lone hair and the glue add a lot of interest. The light is perfect and I like the shallow DOF (necessary probably because it's a macro) and the way the tape blurs and darkens into the background. Perfect for black-and-white and good that it's not overprocessed. Nice job!
