I gave out ten 8's - this was one of them. Never did get back to rack and stack on this challenge or it may have gone up. Feels very real, very honest.

The subjects face is clear ut it seems fuzzy. It makes a cool effect but with an out of focus car part at the top, you really cant help but stare at the guys face. His hand is somewhat bright as well

Great job! Dynamic composition, perfect moment, etc.

too much usm?

This one was difficult for me. I really like that he is working. Doing what he does, in his environment. The concentration in his face is great. My problem is a subset of the fact that he is working, which is sort of the point of this challenge, imo. The fact that his hands and arms show movement right up in the foreground is sort of like seeing two different shots combined into one. The big question, do I discount what you've done because what you've done is follow the challenge? Tough, huh?! Now you see my problem...

Im not sure what that thing in the upper left corner is, but should something on the undercarrige have such lovely colors? Might be a bit blown on the highlights of the hand and chin, but the framing, and mostly the expression you got in his eyes, make this my favorite so far.

A little stopping down may have helped cut the glare. Some odd pp on hand.

Oh the shame! Using a Crescent Wrench! *wink*
Good shot here, though a tad harsh in my opinion - looks like it was a desired effect in post-processing too. What really makes this work is getting just enough of his uniform insignia there.

Don't like the processing (over sharpening), but it's a good environmental portrait.

Nice. Realy a classic env portrait imo. A tad oversharpened for my taste though.

Great colors and use of depth of field make this shot interesting...

Nice framing. More dof & less noise would help this image.

I would like this a lot if it weren't so overly sharpened. It also appears that you have spot edited this as the face was sharpened, but there is something funky going on with the edges of the right hand.

Excellent portrait. I think a wider field would have helped this shot, need to know more about "restorer".

Good portrait, but looks pretty oversharpened and overcontrasted. Might look less harsh if you turn it down a notch.

Good job in showing subject within his environment. Good contrast also.
