 A small contribution to future archeologists!

POST-CHALLENGE:

I am soooo grateful to this extraordinary community. It was thanks to the valuable advice, continuous encouragement and overall "drive" of this site that I finally got my 1st ribbon. Thank you!

This image was a matter of luck. This is an oil refinery, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, and there was a lot of mist from the sea. It gave the pic this "dreary" look. Post processing was rather simple, mainly just colour corrections.

As a curiosity, this location is at aprox. the same latitude as New York City... only on the other side of the Atlantic.

The red stripes add a great touch of colour in this to draw the viewers eye to the cause of the pollution.

Great shot the yellow fog really gives a polluted feeling and adds to the refinery. The misty discolored sky is also a great element in your photo. The border, which usually distracts and bothers me, didn't even get noticed until after i had taken in the whole photograph. This is exactly what i pictured in my head when i thought of pollution so i want to say in advanced, congrats on the ribbon! (if you dont get one you've been cheated!)

the green tint makes the photo. I like the position of the factory and the fact you included the beach. it adds to the impact of the factory on nature. well done

Jeesh, the color of this photograph really give the essence of how nasty pollution is. I can almost smell the greenish haze that is lingering above the water.
