Challenge: Peek-a-Boo (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Date: Mar 9, 2008
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/250
Galleries: Humorous, Self Portrait
Date Uploaded: Mar 9, 2008

My vision was peek-a-boo with one of those frightening, heavily painted granny's complete with curlers (maybe even a cigarette). I didn't have the curlers or the cigarette so I went extra heavy on the paint! Tried to give myself big hair but I just dont have enough hair to pull it off.

Held my face & processed to accent as many wrinkles as possible (not pleasant to see oneself that way!). Might as well get used to it...5 years from now it will be my new normal! : )

Shot in RAW. RAW conversions. Edited in our brand new Photshop CS3 woo-hoo! Selective color, cloning, burning, dodging, blur, sat/desat, levels, crop, save for web.

It seems there has been a rip in the time/space continuum when an overly cloned/smoothed NI'd image of a cat in a plastic bag beats this. :-)

Aimee - ROFL.

Do you know when I first saw this shot I thought ' . . is that Aimee?' but I thought I better not call it out because if Iwas wrong you might cycle all the way over here to slap me :- )

(Although I guess if you did I should have plenty of time to escape before you got here . . )

Truly funny shot - and brings back those deep scars from when we were all kids and various figures loomed at us

Hilarious. I think since everything is so exagerated here, that the background color should be brighter, keep it a neutral, but not gray. Or have the subject wear a different sleeve color...again something bright. (I wouldn't do both, though).

Now, THAT is enough to give NIGHTMARES! *wink* Wonder WHY we think "Peekaboo" is a child's game? *grin*

Oh no how did my aunty Betty get on DPChallenge!! and she looks like she hasn't been taking her medication??

Seriously this is a great take on the challenge and a high impact image that should score well because it is very sound in all photography aspects.

Great expression! Normally I'm not a huge fan of staged shots like this, but this is really cool. This would make a great piece of stock art, too.

your model must have tons and tons of good humor to have a picture taken like this one. Great expression, good lighting, good focus
