Extreme red border doesn't work well. I'm not scoring this lower because of your interpretation, I get the pun and it's quite creative. I just don't think this photo is very interesting.
Funny, but weak shot. Like your creativity, though. Badly lit and a bit too soft as well. The stems hanging leading out the left side of the frame make this shot distracting.
Now that's funny! You might have gotten considerably higher votes with a title like, "Mad Magazine- the cover of Thyme," becuase this clearly wouldn't be used on a mainstream publication.
I'd have used a more "appetizing" border for thyme. Like a thin white or yellow line. The red is not helping the photo. Also, no need for such a small DOF i think.
