 Beautiful

I want for an instant or two
to be beautiful, to say for one day
I lay with daisies and my hair
roiled their petals in that sunlit soup.

I want to walk on clouds, in the summer
of some girl¹s dream to have wings,
in every feather a delicate abstraction
of color, a slight curl, a secret code,

and then to rise like orange ashes
threatening the carpet, to unfurl
like a fear she must face, to paint
in her brave eyes my finest picture.

Wow, as soon as I saw the term "sunlight soup" it just clicked. Magnificent pairing between pic and prose. The sunset color is to die for!

Delightful composition, delightful art, though (in the frustrated way of the impotent consumer of culture, of the pure viewer) I so wish those houses weren't there! Perhaps the Cambridge council can be convinced to move them for you . . .

Wonderful combination of images, the color is fantastic! And the poem is beautiful, moving and even accessible to a person like me who is missing the poetry-appreciation gene :-)

don's poem is beautiful .. i actually got lost in it .. which is saying something as i'm just not that into poetry .. it looks like this thread might change my orientation forever .. !!!..:)
