one of our two dogs. grimm.

we adopted him from a shelter a bit over a year ago. after some time he's adjusted well to the new home and gets along well with his brother Fuego.

he's a very astute guy - likes to keep an eye on things and what not... not sure you'd want to surprise him if he didn't know you ;}

natural light.

darkened BG a tad with an adjustment layer/mask.
D&B on lower layer to add some contrast to the face.
highpass filter / USM on full size.
merge layers
convert to sRGB
resize to 720px
USM
save as for web.

on the larger version you can see the catchlight in the eye is the sun. complete with star points ;}

this image is going to be the match for this one of his brother fuego.

i thought it could work for the color on color challenge too. but maybe too much snow.

haven't entered in awhile. photographing dogs is always a challenge.

Very nice looking dog, so pretty. Love the highlights in the fur, great expression in the eyes - so intense.

Good, but I think cropping to put the dog on the left of the frame would have improved the composition. That way he would be looking into the frame instead of out of it and the viewers eye would be led the same way.

oh gosh, how adorable is your model. his calm composure and elegant pose, whilst still looking interesting and have emotion in the eyes is outstanding. Oh and the photographer is pretty good too 10

Beautiful tones.... I might have cropped more off the left so that his right eye wasn't so centre...
