If you hadn't already guessed from the number in the title, this is the picture I chose to redo:

Guess this will end around 6.2, comments will be like "wow, nice detail" and "makes we want to have a coffee, too", but I will be handed out sixes by the vast majority of voters.

POST: Though it scored higher than I expected, it's a bit sad to see the end result: 1) it has been around 6.5ish all week, 2) lots of the higher finishing images have been voted higher for their good execution, regardless of their missing relation to the challenge description; in fact, among those are 4 pictures (including 2 of the ribboners) I rated 4 and lower for DNMC...

I just love this comment. It shows perfectly some literally minds. I know that Whiterook is joking, but I can't stop loving his sarcastic words ;)
Congrats on the TOP 20

I like the square crop to give maximum effect of detail inside the cup. As always your light work is excellent. I am guessing a softbox? I haven't learned how to light things well yet, so I could be way off. Thanks for leaving a comment on my entry even though you scored it low, I appreciate getting negative comments as well.

Way improved over the brownie. I like all the fine details of the bubbles. Brown shades seem to be a tough color to get to pop like this, so a double attaboy on this one.

Well done! The swirls opposite the grain of the table are great. Perhaps the handle should be more on the diagonal and I'm not sure the white mug is the best color.

beautiful remake of the original. very sharp, interesting background, great composition - the only thing is you're probably getting comments on the light reflections

Very cool shot. I like how the woodgrain in the background matches the original, but that everything else is "kicked up a notch."

Far more appetizing cup of coffee.

I would have liked to see the complete cup though, slightly wider, maybe with the handle on the diagonal.

Love that you have managed to get the background very much like the original and your coffee looks far more appealing than the other one!!
