I drove up by the lake again at lunchtime and decided to go by the casino, which pretty much has taken over that area. I had forgotten about the marina and small beach here. To the left is a bird sanctuary for migratory birds that I remember from discussions years ago when they started talking about building the casino. I think I have a new spot to take pictures when it gets warmer...

I just finished processing a challenge entry and didn't feel like messing with this so I decided to kill it with filters. I think the combination has potential for some more interesting pictures, if you zoom in by the plant it looks like an older version of Sim City.

I really like this. Just round it. The red just draws your eye to it. I dig the editing as well.

This is a very interesting photo and perspective on the shoreline. The red factory/plant really draws the eyes in and all of the spiky things point to the plant. If there was a plant challenge would a close up of this plant be a DQ? lol!

This is one of the best compositions I've seen in this side challenge. Foreground to background has interest, rule of thirds, pleasing to the eye, tells a story, very strong painterly feel, wonderful color, texture and tonality. Can't improve on it. Thanks for sharing it, Ken. Methinks you've found your brain.

Very surreal feel! The red sure jumps off the screen in this image.

goodness! the waves and the smokestack look like cotton. lovely scene and definitely cool PP

What a great place to be able to go and regroup! or does that factory stink? if we catch the wind the wrong direction while down at certain parts of the lake (Champlain) , we get nasty aroma(& chemicals) from the IP paper-plant across the lake in NY! :(

Nice processing. I like all the bright light and colors. Gives this an extra cold look.

Holy crap that's beautiful! I actually gasped when I opened it. The colors and crispness - all awesome. Really well done, Ken.

Great job on the processing. From the thumbnail it looks like a very beautiful warm beach. Now I think I would wait to get out the flip flops and beach towel!

This just says cold. Love the contrast of the power plant to its surroundings. All I can say is God Bless Texas, where it's a balmy 39 degrees this morning.
