Five nations in the photograph, six with the photographer, maybe seven with you.

Four young people from Iraq, Albania, Kazakhstan and Burma. They are all displaced by violent conflict. Local peace enables the situation in the snapshot.

Thanks for understanding.

It really does seem like a moment of understanding captured here. And yes, understanding is essential to peace as is demonstrated over and over again by the lack of both.

No matter the challenge topic, I have always a big fan of these types of shots (though this fits in my opinion). Real shots with real emotions. Terrific.

I think in a lot of cases people do not look beyond their own little worlds, which is quite sad. This is an exceptional take on the challenge and an enjoyable photograph to view.

i got your meaning right away and i personally liked this one. i feel maybe that if you have angled it differently and gotten the other 2 it would have done a lot better!

This is a smart and subtle representation of the challenge concept - these people look really connected, in the moment.

Well, this is so drastically underrated that it boggles the mind.

Great photo and excellent interp on the topic.

I'm just reading some of your comments - how can you NOT connect this with peace?? I didn't vote on this challenge, but to me it definitely says Peace.

The whole photo looks a little dark you sort of lose some shapes in all the shadows. I like the sense of a candid shot, i just dont see where it connects to "peace"

I don't understand this image, but the contrast and value in the lighting in the background is very well done.

I fail to see the segue to peace with this photo

I really like this very much, both as a photo in its own right, and in terms of the challenge 'Peace'.

I really like the framing of your photo.. It looks like a still from a movie. The sharpness is excellent and the DOF works well.

It's a great photo, but it just doesn't say 'peace' to me.

good levels and lighting, i don't really see how it creates a "peaceful" meaning though.

I like the idea here but I'd really like to see more of their faces. I can't see any of the face of either of the people on the left. The OOF stuff in the foreground also blocks my view.

It's a good photo, just far too busy to convey peace
