I had a couple not-so-exciting shots for today and then got out the camera after dinner. I took a few of Cartesia and then she wanted to take a few. I held the camera/lens/flash and she sort of aimed. But of course she wanted to do it all by herself. I took off the flash and put on the lighter 50mm. I don't know why I let a 3 yr old take total control of my camera, but with the strap around her neck I figured the worst that could happen is a fingerprint on the lens. There was only one when she was done.

I quickly grabbed wickee_one's camera, put on the flash, and took pitures of Cartesia taking pictures. She took a lot and the ones that didn't come out mostly were due to on-camera flash fired too close. I've inlcuded two that she took alone with those of her. It was amazing to see her handle that big camera, sometimes with one hand (yikes!). Maybe she's just been through it a lot, but she was directing us to smile, move, etc.

And then she chimped.

You are brave letting a 3 year old take hold of the camera. Cartesia looks so natural with it that seems like she's been at it for years, I hope she didn't get the camera at 1 or 2. Cartesia did a great job on her first photo shoot, yeah the lighting is a bit off but that's fine at her age.

Great idea making many pictures into a collage. The poses you captured are priceless. I can just see these hanging on a graduation display. You really are so trusting of your camera with both girls but especially Cartesia. Maybe I should learn from you and not be overly protective of my equipment.

You can't start to early with making photos. (Is she a member here already?) Got a little behind in following all the slices of life, but it's good to see Cartesia is feeling better. Wonderful composition.
