Challenge: Parallel Lines (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE Z1
Location: Loganville, Ga
Date: Mar 12, 2004
Aperture: f/3.1
ISO: unknown
Shutter: 15 seconds
Galleries: Sky
Date Uploaded: Mar 12, 2004

This is an image of the constellation Leo and planet Jupiter. The camera was piggy-backed on top of a telescope, and the telescope was slewed during a 15 second exposure. Jupiter is the brightest object. The 'crook' or backward question mark of Leo is very evident along the top half of the image.

Nice try. I see what you were trying to do, too bad you were ranked so low. I'll be interested what else you've got up your sleeve. Don't give up yet!

way too much distortion, I can't tell what it is.

too dark to appreciate.

I think you could have done some basic editing with levels that would have made these more obvious.

Your parallel lines are not very obvious, mainly I think because there isn't something for them to lead to. Try switching to a lighter background light it from the side to catch the parallels of the pins and their shadows.

Skyshot with bulb setting?

This is very ingenious, and astrophotography appeals to me . In that sense it is terrific, but I wonder if there is enough interest in it to be a winner. I find it hard to classify.

meets the challenge but not really an overly interesting photo

Nothing is captured here. sorry, but looks like a black photo with open shutter too long.

Um...well...way too noisy - it looks like it was cropped way too close from a photo and boring- there's nothing interesting about this at all.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. What are those white things, and what's with the heavily pixelated very dark green background, and, oh never mind. This makes no sense to me.

waaaay too abstract for me

Jupiter, I would recoginize it anywhere! Who are the two moons hanging out with him?

creative take on the theme

It may be my monitor, but this photo is so dark, I couldn't tell what it was.

Nice long exposure of the sky?

Too dark... what is this?
