 This image was taken earlier this year on a walking bridge overlooking the James River in Richmond, Va. I use it to start February because the sun is setting on my winter. In three days time I will be headed south to Daytona to start a 42 week stretch of nearly non-stop travel. The good thing - I will be able to visit some many places along the way.

I intentionally left the rod in the image to provide a sense of where I was, a bit of foreground it you will.

got here late, just trying to catch up with comments
I like the wide angle here on the sunset, the rod off to the left competes with my eye though... moving to the right before composing the image may have helped get that gone..

I like the long dof and the water & trees leading to the sun glow

This is very lovely - subtle with a punch. The longer I look, the more I see.

My mom lives in Daytona. I hope we get to see some of this loooong trip of yours!

Nice capture of the sunset. The clouds are so puffy and add some dramatic dimension to the picture.

42 weeks of travel sounds either very nice or like a lot of work. The clouds are fantastic and make this seem like a fish eye shot. Beautiful creek.

wow .. for the photograph .. a beautiful sky and so dramatic ... and wow that you'll be travelling for 42 weeks .. i cant imagine the amazing photographic opportunities you'll find .. :)
