This is a tiny baby Kookaburra just out of its nest, being gared for at the childrens special baby bird care section, at our (Steve Irwins) Australia Zoo.

One can see it is a baby, due to how fluffy the feathers are, and also how the tail feathers have not grown yet.

Kookaburras are such great looking birds - we have some at our local wildlife park and they are so amazingly tame they will just sit there while you walk around and get the exact shot you want of them : )

Fascinating looking bird, though the details of it's face are a bit lostin shadows because of the side lighting.

A fur ball with eyes and beak. Nice composition, good colors and contrast. A little soft in the focus as I can't really make out a lot of detail in the feathers but better than many I've seen today. Nice work.
