Another day, another park. My husband and son have both seen a Bald Eagle in the area lately and I was hoping to find him here, since there is a large, well-stocked lake surrounded by woods. No such luck, but this duck pair amused me to no end.
I think she is a Northern Pintail, though frankly female ducks are hard to identify!! He's clearly a Mallard, but she can't be due to her size, lighter coloring and that gray beak. But species be damned; he followed her everywhere, and she even slowed down and waited for him occasionally. True love :-)
