Fine Art print created using a photo from a maternity photoshoot. Entered into recent Best of Images Before and After 2007 Competition; made the semi-finals for the Fine Art category. I am very pleased about that as it was my first try at a print competition. I did not win the competition, but that's OK, the images I was up against were just wonderful, and I am happy about the outcome.
Hmmm...the editing steps..I'd like to say I kept track of them, but I didn't - so here's a close as I can come to remembering: (I'm leaving out all the "make layer" kind of stuff)
Got rid of the trees from original
Cloned out all hardware on pier
Added some extra silk scarves flying behind her
Did a gaussian blur on scarf material on a layer, masked it, then slowly painted it back to the softness I wanted
Used the teensiest, tiniest bit of Lucis effects (Exposure and Wyeth) on separate layers, then blended and masked to achieve the look I wanted for the water and the pier
Painted her hair long - (I was initially going to leave it short, but it kept bothering me so I did it long)
Used 2 different textures on 2 separate layers blended to get the effect I wanted using some combination of blend modes (most likely used a combination of overlay, soft light, and multiply)
Use Render to get some lighting effect
I think that's it. I'm sure there was more, but who knows what?!
