 A corkscrew suspended with fishing line over wine glasses filled with cranberry juice, blueberry juice and ginger ale (in retrospect, blueberry was probably too dark). Illuminated from behind with a single 500w light, and bounced off a sheet of paper to light the front. A little selective dodging, blur and sharpening, cropped and color shifted in Photoshop.

I really liked this shot. I love the colours and how clean the image looks. I think it has very strong composition as well and just the right amount of DOF.

Thanks to all for the comments! Banmorn hit the nail on the head with his comment- this shot was fairly ordinary until I shifted the hues. That made all the diffference in the world.

this might have been only so so shot but the great colors of the drinks in the DOF and their reflections on the the corkscrew really boosts it up several notches.

The color highlights the smoothness of the metal nicely, adding a lot of interest to an otherwise mundane subject. I like the composition too. Good job. 10 from me.

If I could shoot this shot over, I would try to get one of the edges/rim of the glass right in the middle of the head to look like a smile to compliment the position of the subject and the title of the shot. I hope to see this one finish up with a ribbon.
