This pelican was landing on a bridge abutment as we were sailing under the bridge at Sanibel Island. I was shooting with a manual 180mm prime lens so I didn't get to zoom and get the whole bird. The bridge is under construction, and a barge is what is in the background at the bottom. This is about 1/4 of the original image.

I love this, Waddy!!! What a great catch - the missing wing tips really convey the sense of 'landing'. Brilliant colors and sharpness. You were on top of it there.

Beautiful Pelican. I like the concentration in the bird before landing. The blue is great to accent the pelican and the yellow gives the sense of a landing place.
