Challenge: Time Lapse (Advanced Editing VI ("Time Lapse")*)
Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED
Location: my house

Took 8 shots of me playing an ascending solo, camera on a tripod. Used 2 400ws mono-lights and 2 sb-800's. I chose 6 images, created the layers and started chopping them up. Taking into account the natural movement of the guitar I had to rotate the shots to line the fret board back up but it is slow natural linear movement. I did some sharpening , slight cloning, erasing, dodging and burning, hue-saturation, curves, flatten, re-size and save for the web.

Well here we go I hope I can keep my no DQ streak alive. I sure don’t envy the SC on this challenge man are you guys going to be tired! Good luck gang!

This was one of my favourites. Fantastic shot. Love the quiet mood it creates. Congrats on top ten and a wonderful image, Erick.

Very effective background and the hat adds extra character which is fun. Very clever photo. To be picky it doesnt look as though the guitar is actualy being played, in my opinion it would be better if his right hand was in mid strum, or along those lines. Having said this this is a very good photo and I hope it does well. :)

GeneralE: that's not a natural chord progression. I think he's bending notes.

ursula: the Blues is natural.

scalvert: but is it physics?

ursula: it's physical.

Freaky, but the intense look on your subject's face adds a lot to the image. 7

Technicaly great, but the hand looks unnatural to me. I don't feel motion as much as distortion. Maybe some blur?

Lovely portrait. I think maybe (as a picture and maybe more than just a challenge response) the left hand could do with being either rhythmically cloned or having some motion blur.

very nice as a portrait. nice colours. however, i would think that there should be some movement in your pickin hand. it doesn't look like it's moving at all.

Wazz, this is friggin awesome. I love the positions of your hand. I would prefer it more if you were looking at the viewer, rather than the chords, to bring them into it.

Similar to another entry but this is far superior IMO. More fingers, all in focus, simple background, balanced tones. You have demonstrated good post-processing skills and the hardwork this must have taken is worth it.

Niely done. It looks hard to blend all of those hands without making them floating in space due to a lack of an attaching forearm. You did well and have a great shot! 8

Think it would be better if the right hand was moving too... but nice idea and looks good.

great lighting and background...my thoughts are that the hands look too sharp, yeah I know, how could that be a problem? If there was some movement it would have been better, as it is it looks like a man with 20 fingers...maybe a slower shutter speed just to catch a little movement??? just a thought...in any case 8
