Could be a better shot if the colors would be right. Were his fingers that red...from a cookie? He would look much better front of a plain wall or something. Although I like the shadows on the ground, other things next to his head and the flash shadow gets my attention. I am sure next time you will do much better ;)
Cute kid, but the actual photo could be better. It would have been better if it had been shot from lower, shooting the child more at eye level and showing less floor. Bouncing the flash would produce a softer light and reduce the visible shadow.
