Stanlow Oil Refinery by night. With a long exposure, lights, smoke and gas from the processing look like the place is on fire.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, I am learning all the time so the constructive criticism is also fantastic.

A new PB for me 5.8 woohoo!

This photo took a lot of effort, getting up a hill in the freezing cold and wind!

The color doesn't work for me, I would prefer either black and white, or a bold, brilliant full color. Besides the color, the photo is excellent. It's crisp, it's cropped and composed thoughtfully.

Good work, I'd love to see something different with the color.

love the tones

cropping a couple of inches from the top would have been an improvement

Interesting. It may be more eye catching with more redish monochrome.

Interesting long exposure. Looks like the background is more in focus then the foreground. Zooming in or cropping closer to the industry site make make for a better composition. Possibly too much sky.

I guess with what you have photograph you can view the city in the background as the important element of the picture and that the power that is being made is for that city.

Interesting scene - seems top heavy though. Why leave so much sky?

I would have preferred it in colour, and with less empty sky - maybe with the horizon at the top third rather than the middle.

I'm normally very critical when people choose to use monochrome as there really isn't a good reason for it. In your case, however, I think using monochrome was a great choice.

Niec smoke trails. Not sure I like the monotone effect.

Wow I don't know why but I really love this shot. The glows really just draws you into the town. Great job.
