That fade-the-B&W-layer bit is one of my favorite things to do, too. Works quite well here. Lovely portrait! Now reshoot for the next challenge... :-)

Beautiful woman, nice portrait. "Texture" could be brought out more with closer concentration on one aspect, i.e. eyes, or eyes, hair, forehead. Just a thought.

I would have loved to have seen the texturees on Dot's face to be harsher by increasing contrast...
