This image just leapt out at me and held on tight. I don't know why it has such oomph, if someone can explain it to me I'd be grateful.

Processed on default settings in ACR, rotated to straighten horizon a bit, cropped, increased saturation of rocks, selective colour for sky and clouds, merged layers, resized, usm, saved for web.

And maybe I should eat my lens cap.

Stunning shot and composition, I love the sky.

I would have given this a 6-7. I LOVE the color and contrast, but the composition is slightly lacking. Maybe if it was shot so that the rocks came through the frame at an angle it would have improved it? Who knows :) The color really is gorgeous.

I really liked the contrasts in color and texture, I gave it an 8.

I think the contrast needs a little boost. Otherwise I like the composition bordering on abstract.

I gave this a 5. It doesn't do much for me, not much of interest and I think it could use more contrast to make the colours pop.

i gave you a 6 liked the colors thought that there should have been more reflection in the water

You said you called it the Pool just because you had to name it, but that pool really is kinda the subject, or at least it comes across that way to me as it is presented here. I like the vertical composition - for some reason I prefer landscapes in portrait mode. I kinda like it when I scroll down and cut off part of the sky - it adds a bit more emphasis on the foreground colors and textures, which to me is really subject of the shot.

And don't eat your lens cap. I think you made a good choice with this. If it speaks to you (and I love it when that happens) it can't be wrong.

This looks so raw and prehistoric......beautiful in its primeval simplicity.

Good photo, and a respectable finish.

not bad. I like it, sharp clean. Nice sky and land combination with little water :) Not too interesting but not bad either :)

Pool is just a little too central - I would perhaps crop the bottom two inches off to make it a little more interesting.

i like where you're going with this but i feel that the composition is somewhat lackluster. It looks like your lens was wide enough for you to get closer to the pool (your subject) and make it a more prominent feature of the composition, instead of all that (imo) uninteresting space in the bottom 1/3 of the frame. still, 7 good luck !

Nice composition. It would be nice to see the clouds more clearly reflected in the puddle.

lacks the wow factor1 A nicely executed shot of somewhere you have been.

I'd have positioned the puddle much closer in the foreground.
