Mmmm...this is a very peaceful shot. I would love to sit at the dock with a cup of hot cocoa and listen to the frogs and crickets and just enjoy the beauty.

Hi,
About the question of layers... I didn't do any adjustments with this one. I'm happy to send the original into DP Challenge. This is actually a very good camera -- see review at: //www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/DX6490/D64A.HTM
Believe it or not, I think any camera could have captured this shot. It was a very grey mist and the water was extremely still - a great advantage to living in Victoria, British Columbia at this time of the year. |

Are you sure layers are not separated and tuned here?

| My wife is very upset with me because I beat her in this challenge. ;) We took photos the same morning separately, and didn't tell each other our subject, etc., until the entries were on DPChallenge. I actually thought hers would do better, so this ribbon was a nice surprise. Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments. You guys are very encouraging and I hope I can live up to this in the future. I was very lucky that we woke up to mist on the lake that morning. |

| Lovely mood, great clouds and reflections, good composition, a slight desaturation of the plants and grass in the front would have made it even better, in my opinion. |

| this is nice and it conveys a calm peaceful feeling, I would've liked to see it cropped at the tree line to give the beautifully smooth water a little more drama. |

| I see a bit of resemblance here between this and the Morning Meditation photo. Couldn't decide which to go with, so you went w/both? I imagine this is just out of view to the left of the deck (women on the bench). I like the one w/the women a bit better. |

| nice image. really great water color and shadows and reflections. nice image. Perhaps it is a little uneasy to have the horizan a little off horizontal... all the water should be running to the left side of the screen. |
