|Last minute subsitution (I think the shot I originally submitted is too subtle for a FS ... we'll see if this fares any better than average). This is the boardwalk which winds through the wetlands in my favorite park. I always find something fun to photograph here - plants, bugs, wildlife - but this time I went for the whole scene. Late afternoon sun and menacing clouds. I like that you can't quite tell where the boardwalk goes as it disappears into the dark background, and the clouds are threatening, but there's a hint of color and you can't quite tell if it's actually going to rain. The boardwalk invites you in while everything else says a sensible person would try again on a better day :-)
PP - converted from RAW 4x (dark, normal, +1 and +2), overlaid and adjusted transparency to squeeze out the highlights and contrast and merged all, cropped, levels, white balance, increased saturation, dodged plants and boardwalk, burnt plants, cloned out bright water reflections under boardwalk in a couple of places, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction.
