I was staring at the candle when this idea hit me out of the blue which is amazing in its simplicity and yet it has an enormous draw.

It almost seems to emit a tide of serenity and calmness as you feel yourself melting away staring at it. It really seems to personify the term Wabi Sabi...

Anyways I though I might share this with you all and see what you think.

Thanks.

Both bold and calming at the same time.

The colour in the wax is mesmerising... though filling the frame a little more would have worked best for me :)

Your exposure is great, and your focus is dead on.

Unfortunately I can't say the image does much for me. Without reading the title I wouldn't know that the flame is your focus.

While I appreciate the simplicity and minimalism of the background, I don't think it adds anything. I think you could get away with a much tighter crop and accomplish the minimalism effect you're going for. As it is right now, there's so much black that it's competing with your lone flame.

pretty photo..however you don't want to guide your audience too much with a title. Instead, let the picture speak for itself. You'd probably get a higher rating by reducing your title down to three or less words. Good Luck :)

very nice interpretation, a candle is indeed something whos beauty changes over time. Nicely taken. (many people complain about the black spot on the candle?)
