The idea came to me when I was reading the Wikipedia article on Wabi-Sabi, specifically the part about the Japanese tea cups.
I'm sad about how the image is in softer focus than I think looks nice. It was a hand-held shot and many of the shots didn't even come out this sharp. Sharpeing the image more than I did already made the edge of the cup handle very jagged, and in advanced I would have sharpened the barley on its own.
"yawarakai" means soft in Japanese ;-)

I kept the tiny jug-in-black-bowl with the lentils in the bathroom where I took the picture. They're on a ledge right next to the tub, under the window. (The window withthe nice lighting apparently , hehe.) After I was done with the shots it just looked so pretty and zen that I wanted to keep it :-)
