 The Last Leaf.

I looked outside this morning to realize that there were all but maybe 5 leaves left on my japanese maple (yesterday about half of the tree still had leaves) and the wind was gusting. I grabbed my camera before heading to work and tried to get a shot of my last leaf. It was hard to get anything in focus because of the wind and this was my favorite shot of the series. When I came back from work, all leaves were gone. This kind of reminded me of one of my all time favorites short stories, "The Last Leaf" by O'Henry (//www.online-literature.com/o_henry/1303/).

I like the motion blur. The colors surrounding the leaf are quite subtle which allows the eye to be pulled right to that last leaf.

Very nice. I love the colors and composition with the purple and white branches. Well balanced and calm. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

lovely colours .. we have a chinese elm in our yard, in fact two .. they came as cuttings from my mum's house where they had a giant of a tree . .. you have winter and we have summer here .. i much prefer summer .. i'm really liking the darkness and the beautiful colours in this image .. the wind may'v added a lovely soft look as well .. :)

Great blue lines with varying degrees of focus and movement. And can't forget to mention good placement of the leaf. Very nice.
