i went for a walk this morning and noticed this area with the grass creating a lovely border .. i was thinking of the 'seeing the unseen' challenge .. so i sat down and waited for something with the same colouring, like a small insect, to pose for me in just that spot .. i waited at least 5 minutes .. !!! .. nothing came ..
i'd photographed this monarch butterfly in a completely different place a few minutes earlier .. when i got home i thought the grassy border would look nice with the butterfly in it ..
i was just going to put the butterfly in our slice of life unedited, but i got carried away again ..

this is the original photograph of the butterfly with a bit'v levels to brighten his body for the details ..

I am always amazed at how you are able to take two pictures and combined them to make it look as if it was just one picture originally. I love the frame the grass creates around the small and delicate butterfly.

I love the grass border, it goes so well with the image and really creates that "peaking through" feel. Beautiful image, Roz!

I love the framing from the grass. Sometimes we just need to make our own magic happen. Beautiful image!

LOL! you are such a riot. I can see you belly-down on the ground waiting for something to appear in the natural frame, then saying - screw it - and just photo-shopping the butterfly in. Too funny!!

And of course creative. You've made a beautiful image, and frankly, if you hadn't told us, I would not have known. However, I'm also very gullible. Love that fresh grass - great image, Roz.
