This was one of my favorites. Maybe because I can relate to the situation in the picture. I thought you had one of the best interpretations of the challenge. Keep it up, I guess the voters are quite uptight about the crispness of the picture...

Hehe, I told you you'd get a 3 :). I just love the way the light glints off your bald head. Definitely keep up the webcam photography, but maybe try out some noise removal next time.

The grainy aspect of the photo gives us the feel that your corner of the world is in a space station, I like it.

image quality is a huge issue here. 2

the frame! dark and grany

Good shot, but I find myself very distracted by the lack of stong blacks and the horrific amount of digital noise. Suggest: re-shoot and re-submit. But the idea is good, the camera angle is excellent, and it seems to me to have the potential to be a great idea for this particular challenge. CJ

This is from your web cam? Incredible graininess.
09/26/2002 06:14:00 PM
People will complain about the grainy-ness.

But It goes so well with the "need sleep" theme. Isn't that the feeling in your head when you need sleep?

Also gives it a big brother surveillance feeling. Good luck.

Dark, grainy and oof on my monitor.

In my humble opinion, this was a pretty interesting angle, and the idea meets very well the challenge, but the deficiencies en the photographic technique and the resulting quality of the image is very bad. It seems to me the camera's capabilities are not helping you too much

At first I thought the lights were reflections of some sort. But actually make an interesting sort of "halo". I like the grain. Makes me think of how my eyes feel at 1:00 AM when I do need sleep.

Don't know what effect you were seeking. This doesn't do much for me, however. 4 sjgleah

Interesting :) the noise and compression artifacts in this photo actually seem to add an element of "I'm tired.. i'm so tired i can't see straight" to this photo... I must admit that you are bold if this was your intention with this photograph. You are almost certain to be banished into the dungeons for attempting to creatively pursue a thought by creating a less than perfectly exposed and finished image... :) - setzler

I'm not sure how you took this one. It looks like a photo of a monitor. The lighting is a bit dark on the subject. Kind of hard to judge the focus since the pict is kind of grainy. Interesting concept though.

Different. I like it.

Follow the white rabbit.

Too blurry for me. Almost as if it's from a video camera.
09/23/2002 07:38:00 PM
Very grainy, dark and lacking any viewable details. Sorry, 5 Swash
09/23/2002 07:21:00 PM
Why so grainy and darK?
09/23/2002 04:13:00 PM
Seems grainy with lots of noise. I like the angle.
09/23/2002 03:12:00 PM
I like that it is all blurry and dark...just the way u feel when u have been glued to the screen for way tooo long :) It gets an 8 for being artistic and cool :)
09/23/2002 01:19:00 PM
i realize it was quite dark and you were trying to bring up the levels so I could see some detail, but the grainy quality puts me off.
09/23/2002 12:49:00 PM
Too grainy.
09/23/2002 11:13:00 AM
Is this a web cam image?
09/23/2002 09:38:00 AM
This certainly meets the challenge. I think the grainy look lends itself to the late, burned out effect that I THINK the photographer did deliberately. However, unless he's taking it with a mirror, this is that other guy's corner of the world.
09/23/2002 12:47:00 AM
Just a tad too grainy for my taste...
