 I was messing around trying to take a self-portrait and found it very very hard. I did all kinds of faces just trying to get a good focus. This turned out not bad, so I worked on it.

Convert from RAW
Virtual Photographer (The first portion of judi's tutorial with the 3 layers.
Gradient layer with Blur (Color Layer)
Brought back more color in the eyes with the original background.
Used a Blue filter, extra on the eyes.
Selective Dodge and Burn
USM

great job except for the eyes. The blue looks way too fake.

I love all the contrast and details in the face. I wish the eyes were a little bit more muted like the skin tones.

Striking photo. Love the tonal range and grittiness. In fact, this is inspiring me to try a similar entry (although I'm sure it won't be executed nearly as well) for the current portrait challenge.
