Poor constrast. Poor focus.

Exposure is pretty bad, and the pine-cone is not very interestingly displayed here.

Exposure wrong, white balance wrong, poor focus

Backlit images are tricky. Cameras have a difficult time metering in these situations. Sometimes it helps to use manual and underexpose by a fair bit. There is a bit of foreground bokeh here, but it's minimal, and it doesn't really "enhance" the image. (5)

Watch out for that direct sunlight as it's overexposed

light flare, overexposed image

overexposed

Looks like you were shooting into bright sunlight here. It gives the image a very unfocussed look. Good luck, anyway.

This looks very washed out on my monitor, so it's hard to tell where there's focus and not. Composition is OK with a nice leading line to the pinecone, but I think you needed a faster shutter speed to keep this from being overexposed.

This one doesn't quite make it for me. I don't know if this is through some fiber/material, but I can't define it so it just doesn't work for me.....sorry....4

The whole image seems too washed out.
