| the light doesn't help this shot as it really takes away from looking at the textures in the wood. Some diffusion (clouds, or man made) might help, then you could work the composition some more. |

| nice and crisp focus - i am not a fan of the somewhat harsh light and shadows in this image - the shadow on the large root going up to the right takes up too much space - a tighter focus on the squiggles of texture may have worked better |
