I'm not a great photographer, so take my comments for what they're worth to you. While the toning is quite nice, there really isn't much to interest the viewer in this shot. If you're going to take pictures of the ordinary, you need to put some type of spin on it giving it a unique perspective.

Focus seems a bit off in general, though it is difficult to pinpoint where. Also, it is a bit flat in tone. Perhaps boosting contrast would help.

Nice tone that goes well with wood. I feel that the frame is a bit busy with no real main focal point causing the eye to jump around the frame in no real order.

Some nice rich browns in this, but I'm finding it hard to focus on a particular aspect of this shot. (And I get that comment a lot, too, by the way.) Maybe a closer selection, contrasting the texture of a leaf or two against that of the wood?

Could do with a little more contrast or shadow to make the parts of the photo stand out.
