Challenge: Textures II (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Olympus C-750UZ
Location: Kitchen table
Date: Feb 17, 2004
Aperture: 3.2
ISO: 168
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Abstract, Studio
Date Uploaded: Feb 17, 2004

This was done using a box with bright orange plastic "pins" which conform to whatever is pushed against them. This is my youngest (7 year old) daughters profile - which looks AMAZINGLY like my own now. Cropped it, adjusted hues slightly - otherwise it's straight out of the camera.

I love those pin boards and I can't believe no one else used one. Great shot and an unusual color.

Wonderfully creative, Wonderfully dimensional as well as textural. My single critical observation is that the uneven vertical line of the "dots" on the left side distracts me,. I believe it would be marginally improved if the left line of sight was straight as the right side is dimensional enough to hide the unevenness. ( It looks like the angle does not allow a vertical alignment on both sides. ) Excellent photo.

Keep looking at this, but not sure how it's done... Looking clowesly it looks a little like the tops of candles...??? Anyway...

Very nice, great colours and lighting! Well done!

really interested in how this was done. Please, if you get a chance, do explain it to me. Really cool looking!

The thumbnail of this was more effective than the fullsize shot.

This definitely has a "wow"-factor that I'm looking for. I like how the face almost seems to be smiling, and that you can't quite tell.

really cool idea. however, people maynot realize what's going on if they are sitting close to the screen. the further back you get the clearer it becomes.

also the shadeing from yellow to dark reds is really nice.

Interesting image - though I wonder if it isn't more about the set-up than the photography: that's certainly where the art is here, the photograph is just a good representation of that. Difficult teritory perhaps, but actually as photography this lacks something for me - which is any sense of texture in those spikes, mainly.

this is different. Almost looks like a "Lite Bright" toy. I think on this one a small border would make it stronger.

nice twist on the pin thing (right?) to make this solid image stronger I'd like to see it on a bit of an angle (instead of face on) to get a feel of the bumps

Not your usual subject.... pretty cool. Really liked the varying shades. Not sure if subject is colored that way or it's the lighting producing different shades of color. Either way, I like it. :)
