Challenge: Textures II (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Backyard
Date: Feb 17, 2004
Galleries: Abstract, Persuasive
Date Uploaded: Feb 17, 2004

This is my first attempt in submitting a picture online. I hope I am doing this right. I was playing around with the camera outside and discovered a sand ashtray, and thought that the texture was interesting.

I don't 'feel' any texture.

creative title. the focus seems off.

I thought I already left this comment, but, this is a tough subject that needs more focus to work. That having been said, I agree with the message.

A little small, a little busy, a little unatractive and a little soft. It also seems quite flat due to unimaginative lighing...

Likely not the first to mention...but it's not in focus and the lighting is a bit harsh in many spots - more subtle light throwing long, dramatic shadows might help this subject

This is a good shot that could have been very good with a bigger post of it

Small, and out of focus.

Just seems too crowded.

Small image, indistinct detail, and very poor lighting - on board flash IMO never looks very inofrmative on close-up shots. Even were it more clear, that flash would I suspect have wiped out any detail in the textures here.

Yucky but it's got texture. Sure you've heard this already but it needs to be larger.

Too bad this shot is so small. I would have gotten closer to the ashes and perhaps less flash. Too much blues and not enough natural colors.

image too small, not very tasteful ;)

good idea but not sharp enough and a bit overexposed

I see the texture, but the subject and composition just don't hold my interest. May be due to the smallness of the photo as well.

God, smoking is awful! I just don't think you captured the textures as well as they could be.

Interresting idea but lack of sharpness does'nt help.
