I've been inspired lately by the work of Paul Caponigro who was featured in the last issue of B&W. Freefall as well as this entry

... were both attempts to emulate the subtleness of his captures of simple objects.

I'm glad this one didn't get trounced like the last one did.

The leaves are lying flat and I shot them from above. The light source is a strobe about 3 feet above and just beyond the top of the frame angled down.

I didn't vote this challenge, but this is so beautiful. I just ran across it. Great finish. I'm a leaf nut and with the yin/yang feel of this, the balance give me twice the fun to look at it. ;~D

Very nice. Very, very nice. I very much appreciate the very subtle border - it really compliments the image. Wonderful lighting. This gets my only 10 - so far.

Fabulous lighting & arrangement. Love the yin/yang relationship of the leaves. Nice concept that was beautifully executed! One of my top ten for this challenge... << 8 >>

very nice - lighting is not flat or too harsh; composition is simple, but lyrically symmetrical; focus on the leaves is good giving us a sense of the texture of the leaves

great tones, very nice, others use the "single light source" in a more prominent way though, still a 9 for me
