popcorn?

Well, I am sure this is going to get dinged for meeting challenge, but I would rather give my thoughts on the shot. It is a very good shot. I think that a little lower POV might have given you less shadow on the second flower and would have helped with some of the focus issues on the lower half of the bottom flower.

Interesting twist on the challenge, but since it is a popcorn challenge, I kind of expect to see popcorn in the image...

popcorn?
11/09/2007 03:39:43 PM
Lovely flowers, but I only see a remote analogy to popcorn.

Topic is "popcorn" not flowers.

Nice texture on the buds. Purple popcorn? LOL

What was your iso on this shot? It looks like there is a lot of noise. This is a stretch to meet the challenge, there are so many good, unique, interesting ideas so far, and this looks like it took no effort.

Interesting flower and composition but a bit of a stretch for this challenge IMO. I am seeing a lot of sharpening hotspots on the flowers and some on the upper left part of the stem.

You'll probably score low with this one and get loads of DNMCs. I considered a DNMC myself, but after some thought, I concluded that this on '...communicates the subject of "Popcorn"' Ãou deserve an extra point for having the guts to stretch the interpretation (7)

there is quite of very noticeable noise. And kind of off topic.
11/07/2007 03:00:23 PM
IMO this has nothig to do with popcorn, even the title doesn't help
11/07/2007 11:45:22 AM
pop CORN!
11/07/2007 11:28:07 AM
I get the "pop" part, but not the "corn" part.

Doesn't really say "popcorn" to me.

I like the color of these buds. However, the composition feels unbalanced. The background is busy. The frame is cramped. Depth of field is shallow but perhaps too shallow since the second (slightly out of focus) bud is almost equal in size to the other they compete for attention...force one entirely back or give them equal treatment to mirror the other.

true, but i'm pretty sure the challenge was for ''popcorn'', not just ''popping'', so i dunno
