this is a photograph i took yesterday morning after ali said 'quick, come and look at this' .. these are wild kangaroos and this photograph is taken from inside the house !!! .. the fences dont slow them down at all .. they just push thru them ..
i had the canon 100mm lens on so thats why the quality is quite good even tho i cropped a fair bit ..
i also changed the photograph in that there was a lot of the foreground grass taking up about half of the image .. so i increased the canvas size about 40% and copy and pasted the top part of the trees and re-scaled that new layer to give more height to the top of the trees .. and got rid of a lot of the grass .. that's why they look a bit unusual .. they should taper off in the top branches but these ones stay the same width ..
i also brought in another kangaroo from a photograph i took at the same time .. the one hopping away is not in the same photograph as the one standing looking in our direction ..
other than those two very small changes !!!!!! .. the photograph had adjustment layers in colour balance & selective colour, some selective lucis, skewing, selective ninja, selective sharpening and a layer style inner shadow ..

Those trees look as if they came out of an enchanted forest movie, very cool.

Now that's a slice of life I'll never see here in my backyard! This really does belong in a storybook, Roz.

Great work, Roz. I'd never have guessed that this was a "composition" not a straight shot. I love the colors. The whole shot looks like it could be a book cover. Great job.

Just wanted to agree the trees look great... having lived in Oz before not as excited by the kangaroos! As usual great work your skills are legendary

I want just to stare at this magical forest! You have the most fabulous trees I've ever seen and the kangeroos make this seem like another planet, another world!!! Great job with editing...this should be on the cover of a book of something. It's so pretty, looks exactly like a painting!!

I think the trees look rather mystical this way. And I'm still very jealous of your kangaroos. :)

Now that's an editing job! Thanks for sharing the details. It looks like a painting and a picture, if that makes sense. Love the dreamy feel to it.

Nice, Roz - again, such a dreamy quality. Love how the one kangaroo is looking into the camera - or so it seems. And your processing is totally brill. I think the tree pasting you did adds to the fantastical atmosphere - and that kangaroo hopping away is amazing. Love the colors and light and everything!!
